Benjamin Franklin was a prolific writer who used the printing press to create newspapers and pamphlets which kept the citizens of the colonies up to date on the current events of the day. Through his writings he helped to form an anti-British feeling among the colonies. As a writer, Franklin placed a strain on his eyesight. To help ease this strain, Franklin invented glasses that could be used in regular life and also as an aid to reading. Another of the inventions of Benjamin Franklin was the Franklin Stove. Franklin was searching for a way to help heat homes and businesses in an efficient manner. His idea was a create a device where you could put coal or woods and have heat go to different parts of the building. This simple stove was a very helpful invention and led the way to future changes in heating and eventually cooling of buildings.
